Feeling the blog love...

I've been lucky enough to receive numerous blog awards. I don't do this for the cheap thrill of putting another adorable picture on my blog - (which you can now view all of them on the "V likes Awards" page to the right). But they're fun to get and fun to give. Since I'm by nature a giver (that's a total lie) I decided to make my own award and distribute it to those bloggers I most want to grab a drink with.

Thus, without further ado, I give you the "V would love nothing more than to have a drink with YOU" award...so grab your glass (and your award if you so choose).

There is only one rule for this award. If you are ever in Chicago, or the Chicagoland area, excluding anywhere in Indiana, you must have a drink with me. This is not negotiable. And you don't get to pass this award on to others. Sorry, you can only get this from me.

So now for the winners...

Some Whine with Cheese - Laurnie is relatively new on my blog list but is one of those bloggers that makes me giddy when I see a new post is up. She is funny, smart, beautiful, witty and also started The Notebook Journey. If you do not already read her blog, start. Immediately.

Blunt Delivery - Since I have already had one drink (okay 2) with this girl, I thought about lifting the requirement until I realized that I only want to hang out with her more. She's fun and funny. Beautiful. And takes amazing pictures. I believe I said once before that if you don't already read Brit's blog than you are worse than both Hitler and pediatric cancer, still true. You suck at life.

Lola Lakely: Life, Love and the Pursuit of Insanity - Words alone cannot express how much I love this girl. Not only has she been elevated to friend on Facebook, Gmail chat, texting, but she's also now number 8 on my speed dial. She will be here in August to visit and I already have visions of Chariots of Fire playing, running in slow motion towards each other on the busy streets of Chicago, cab drivers on crack be damned!

This next one I thought long and hard about because he has been a little MIA lately. But when he does come around, he makes me happy. Especially happy not to be a morbidly obese leopard-print leggings wearing subject of his trailer art. This one is for you Mr. C from Advice and Humor from Mr. Condescending.

As beautiful in real life as she is in her blog, CJR from Girl v. the World is my next winner. One of my best friends from Texas, recently engaged, and one person who actually inspires me to be better. She has her own book blog and wedding blog in addition to the one where she takes on the world. I highly recommend you check her out. She's wonderful and I miss her terribly.

Last but certainly not least is the lovely Candice from That's Tangly. She's sweet and sassy and there are few people I would rather sit down with to drink mass quantities of alcohol. Her escapades are truly epic. She also has a wonderful travel blog that I intend on using more to find places to visit once I have more money.

There are a lot of new blogs I've started reading lately and while they don't get my ever-so-prestigious award yet, they certainly warrant a shout-out. My Inflammatory Writ, Carissa Jaded, and The Sassy Curmudgeon have quickly become favorites of mine and I'm always happy to read your posts.

In unrelated news, if you click on this itty bitty little link here you can make a small contribution, like really small to help sick kids. I'm running a 5k and proceeds go to Children's Memorial Hospital. Of course you don't have to, but if you're feeling giving, it would be much appreciated.

Oh,yes, there will be slow motion. And it will be EPIC.

I'm on your speed dial? I think that may just be a reason for me to quit life. It just doesn't get any better than getting put on your speed dial.

I may be flying to Wales for a music festival in May, want to come?

Thanks for the shout out lady! And even though I don't officially get the award, I still may have to call on you if I'm in Chi-town. To have drinks or at least to pick my drunk ass up on the side of the road because the only other people I know there are my comedy friends, and unfortunately I've dated most of those dudes at some point. :)

Aw V! I read the tweet, and I said to myself, "aw sh*t, I've abandoned my blog so long that everyone is forgetting about me, I might as well applaud the lucky bloggers who get awarded."

Thanks for giving me an incredible award and still placing me up in the top shelf with these other enigmas.

You're one fine piece blog-ass, V. That comes from the heart.

@Lola Lakely - EPIC. How I'm going to get through these next few months is beyond me. The anticipation alone is suffocating.

@Carissajaded - umm you better call me. But not to pick you up because I expect to be on the side of the road with you.

@Mr. C - You were totally on the fence...just make me proud and get back to blogging.

@Blunt Delivery - One time! I bail one time. Grrr.

@Heather - Chi-Irish! Everyone is Chi-Irish that weekend! Unfortunately, I will be up in the suburbs that weekend for family stuff :( And my little Irish nephew's 1st birthday party (actually born on St. Patty's Day!) Thanks for coming by!

I read this post when you first put it up, but when I came back today, I totally read the award as "Grab your ass award from *uncorked." I'm pretty sure my mind just automatically heads toward the gutter.

I love reading this type of post, because it's a great way to find more great blogs to read. I also read The Sassy Curmudgeon and a few others that you listed. :)
